About Essendon & Essendon West

It is presumed that the name of Essendon was derived from the town of Essendon in Hertfordshire, England.

Essendon is a very large suburb with big Federation and Edwardian homes, tree-lined streets, a few of those 70’s style yellow or orange brick apartment blocks, and quite a few schools.

Its local government area is the City of Moonee Valley in the Northern Suburbs Of Melbourne. At the 2011 Census, Essendon had a population of 18,852.

Essendon is bounded in the west by Hoffmans Road, in the north by Keilor Road and Woodland Street, in the east by the Moonee Ponds Creek, and in the south by Buckley Street (except for a small section further south borderingMoonee Ponds).

Because the suburb is so large, there are three shopping strips, two of which have a good village atmosphere.

I recently used Mark to purchase a property for our move to Melbourne. He always respected our budget and made sure that we stayed within it. I was impressed with his knowledge of the different suburbs in Melbourne and could guide us to the best areas within our budget. Mark has a very easy going manner and is very open with his knowledge and opinion of the properties we were interested in. I am really glad that we used Mark and would recommend him to anyone.

Mark was able to help us navigate an unprecedented situation within the property market (COVID-19, virtual auctions, inspections by appointment, etc), to ensure that we were ready to take advantage when an opportunity presented itself. Mark's excellent situational understanding and negotiation tactics ensured that we held firm with our initial offer and were able to secure our new home for a great price.
