About Bulleen

The suburb of Bulleen derives its name from the nearby Bolin Bolin Billabong. The words Buln-Buln translates to lyrebird. Therefore it is accepted that this is the suburb’s name.

Bulleen is located 12km from the city centre situated amongst some other great suburbs including Balwyn North, Ivanhoe, Templestowe and Doncaster.

The suburb is a quiet, safe and convenient suburb bordered by the serene Yarra River. It has lovely parklands and reserves as well as restaurants and offers a great deal of entertainment.

Although is a lack of trams and trains, buses service the area and link Bulleen with the CBD and the nearby Eastern Freeway.
