About Parkdale

The suburb of Parkdale was established in 1920, and was derived from an early homesteader, William Parker.

Parkdale opened its very first Post Office on the 6th of January 1921.

Parkdale is located in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, approximately 23 kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD. The local governing area for Parkdale is the City of Kingston and the 2016 census indicated that the suburb had a population of 11,746.
